What, a brand new forum and no posts in the Classic Horror section? Well shoot, I'll just go ahead and break ground with this little ditty.
Prom Night 2: Hello Mary Lou is one of the greatest surprises I've ever had the pleasure of viewing. After the drudgery of the first Prom Night, this combination of Nightmare on Elm Street and Carrie absolutely knocked my socks off. It's got the bonkers plotting of Slumber Party Massacre 2 coupled with the dark and creative kills present in NOES: Dream Warriors. I mean, hell, THAT LOCKER SCENE THOUGH.
There's also that random pregnancy plot, the rocking horse, the relationship between the priest and the principal, the computer nerd who wears pieces of circuit board on his clothing, and so, so much more. Even the cast is excellent.
It's a damn crime that Mary Lou herself, Lisa Schrage, never went on to greater things. She was a delight and, let's be honest, hot as hell.
Thoughts?
Yeah it's not on Amazon Prime here in the UK :(
At least in the US, it's available for streaming on Amazon Prime. It's also on YouTube in pretty reasonable quality. It's funny, they mentioned it on Shockwaves literally a day after I finally got around to seeing it.
They were discussing this briefly on the Shockwaves podcast the other day. Unfortunately I've never seen the Prom Night sequel but am now looking to get a copy! Sounds like gold!
